Our 1990s dial thermostat had no C-wire, which I knew would be an issue going in. The installer used a compatibility adapter instead of trying to fish new wire through finished walls, and the smart thermostat has been rock solid since. App scheduling paired with our HVAC system without a hitch.
The physical swap and HVAC pairing were done in about 20 minutes. The scheduling app itself is not the most intuitive thing I've used, but the installer walked me through setting up a weekday/weekend schedule before he left, which made it click. Wish he'd left a quick-reference sheet for when I inevitably forget.
